“Lee’s workshops encouraged us to find our voice, read like writers and push ourselves. His feedback on my script was detailed, thought provoking and full of useful questions that helped me take the next steps with my play”.
- Fran Bushe, Writer and Comedian (A Gig for Ghosts, Soho Theatre, 2022)

Post-war British and European Theatre History
In 2023, I led The Squint Playwriting Award programme in partnership with Theatre Royal Stratford East: a six-month writers’ development programme for playwrights from low income backgrounds in East London, culminating in an industry showcase of new work from ten new artists.
I was the leading Course Tutor for University of West London’s Theatre Studies undergraduate programme from 2018 to 2022, supervising academic and practical theatre projects in devising, dramaturgy, adaptation and theatre history.
I led the Writing for Stage programme with Arcola Theatre from 2016-2019, supporting new and early-career writers to develop new plays for stage with workshops, rehearsed readings and script development.
Three Plays by Squint and How They Were Made, a collection of playwriting and dramaturgy tools for theatre-makers, was published with Bloomsbury in 2023 and is available now.

"Lee's workshops have been a wonderful introduction to playwriting. Lee has an open and generous approach to the craft. The tools and exercises he gives you are creative and playful and have helped me develop my voice as a playwright."
- Youness Bouzinab, Writer and actor
